India’s election to the presidency is evidence of the significant contributions the nation has made over the years to promote the use of solar energy worldwide and increase investment in vital solar projects, such as mini-grids and medical equipment.

The United Arab Emirates and Papua New Guinea have been chosen as Vice-Chairs, while Australia and Sri Lanka have been chosen as Vice Presidents from the Asia-Pacific Region. Greece and Norway have been chosen as Vice-Chairs, and Germany and Italy have been chosen as Vice Presidents from the Europe and Others Region. Grenada and Suriname will be in charge of the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Committee, with Haiti and Jamaica serving as vice-chairs.

In 2020, ISA launched Demonstration Projects to address the needs of SIDS and LDCs. The objective was to demonstrate scalable solar technology applications and increase member nations’ ability to duplicate these solar-powered solutions.

Notably, 11 of these projects were dedicated to the citizens of the nations in question: Ethiopia, Mauritius, Samoa, Senegal, The Gambia, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cuba, Djibouti, and Tonga. Governments working to expand solar energy projects and enhance the quality of life for their citizens will continue to receive assistance from ISA. When possible, the ISA Assembly will also take into consideration a proposal to encourage more women to participate in ISA’s programs, projects, and support activities in all of its member nations.
